The final piece, the Dante Sonata (work of program music) is based on Dante most famous epic poem, the Divine Comedy, what is considered the greatest literary work composed in the Italian language. (Dante, was a major Italian poet of the Middle Ages1265-1321) The poem describes Dante's travels from Hell to Heaven but at a deeper level it represents allegorically the soul's journey towards God.
